5 min read · Updated Jul 2026
Version history stores snapshots so you can compare edits and restore prior content when a change was mistaken.
What you will learn
- How to open version history for a document
- How to compare two versions
- How restore creates a new version
- How history relates to source change reviews
Steps
- 1
Open a document
Choose a frequently edited Nintendo Help Center article.
- 2
Open Version history
Click the History tab or Version history in the document menu.
- 3
Browse snapshots
Select a date to view title and body at that point in time.
- 4
Compare versions
Pick two snapshots and view inline diff for changed paragraphs.
- 5
Restore if needed
Click Restore on an older version. Wiki creates a new snapshot and sets lifecycle to Needs review.
- 6
Notify reviewers
After restore, submit for verification so AI Applications pick up the corrected content.
Common issues
- History empty.
- Only saves after first edit post-creation. Make a save to start history.
- Restore did not update AI answers immediately.
- Re-run Answer Playground tests. Cached runs may differ until new retrieval occurs.
